DescriptionCantharellus chicagoensis Leacock, J. Riddell, Rui Zhang & G.M Muell 697186.jpg |
Cantharellus chicagoensis Leacock, J. Riddell, Rui Zhang & G.M Muell. Image location: Delaware State Park, Delaware, Ohio, USA Growing scattered in a small patch (probably around 2 square feet) in a grassy, mowed area under Pinus strobus near Carya ovata, Quercus sect. Quercus and Acer saccharum. Caps greenish and with a somewhat granular textured. Spore print cream. I wouldn’t call it pale yellow but it’s probably not too far off. Spores measured in Piximetre: 7.36 × 4.10 µm 7.59 × 4.79 µm 8.98 × 4.86 µm 8.35 × 5.80 µm 7.28 × 5.04 µm 8.05 × 4.62 µm 7.81 × 4.53 µm 7.64 × 5.48 µm 7.19 × 4.78 µm 7.12 × 4.52 µm 8.14 × 4.71 µm 8.12 × 4.60 µm 7.50 × 4.70 µm 7.28 × 5.09 µm 7.93 × 4.97 µm 7.10 × 4.56 µm 8.00 × 4.99 µm 8.47 × 5.08 µm 7.91 × 5.29 µm 7.60 × 4.98 µm 7.69 × 4.35 µm 7.52 × 4.65 µm 6.76 × 4.96 µm 7.00 × 4.34 µm 7.19 × 5.30 µm 6.99 × 5.07 µm 8.06 × 5.22 µm 8.67 × 5.33 µm 7.40 × 4.18 µm 8.02 × 5.36 µm 6.6 [7.5 ; 7.9] 8.7 × 4.1 [4.7 ; 5] 5.7 µm Q = 1.3 [1.5 ; 1.6] 1.9 ; N = 30 ; C = 95% Me = 7.7 × 4.9 µm ; Qe = 1.6 Recognized by sight: Greenish caps Used references: Leacock et al.
