Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Cann Quarry. Slate, mainly used for flooring and walls, was quarried at Cann. Remains of a large water wheel pit and crushing machinery have been preserved on the quarry floor with information boards, and just round the corner are the remains of some quarrymen's houses, now in the care of the National Trust, as is much of the land surrounding Plym Bridge. Peregrine falcons regularly nest on the quarry face and can be seen from the adjacent viaduct. |
