Description
English: Bell-shaped column base, bearing a trilingual inscription (Old Persian, Elamite, Babylonian): “I, Darius, the Great King, King of kings.” The Old Persian versions adds: “son of Hytaspes” Limestone, ca. 510 BC. Found in the Tell of the Apadana in Susa.
Français : Base de colonne campaniforme. Calcaire, trouvé dans le tell de l'Apadana (salle d'audience du palais de Darius Ier), vers 510 av. J.-C. Porte une inscription trilingue (vieux-perse, élamite, babylonien) : « Moi, Darius, le Grand Roi, Roi des rois ». La version en vieux-perse ajoute « fils d'Hytaspes ».
