Eight-armed budhist representation of narayana |

Description |
English: This figure of the narayan of Compassion is a bronze replica of one of the twenty-three stone images King Jayavarman VII sent to different parts of the kingdom in 1191 in a celebration of the compassion the king attributed to his own father. The small figures of the Buddha can be understood as representing the qualities of Buddhahood that lie in every pore of Avalokiteshvara's skin, and the figures around the waist are an outward manifestation of advanced techniques of meditation. |
