Français : Photo prise sur le Plateau d'helfaut près de la fr:Colonne d'Helfaut (près de fr:Saint-Omer (Pas-de-Calais), dans le Pas de Calais, en France.
Sur une zone sableuse, naturellement oligotrophe et acide, décapée, les bruyères callune et tetralix ont formé un tapis ras, entretenu par les lapins. Sur les zones décapés par le surpiétinement, le sable reste relativement maintenu en place fixé par un biofilm d'algues et bactéries ou microlichens et substance mucilagineuses produites par les organismes qui y vivent (dont micro champignons). On y trouvait autrefois des lichens au sol, mais mais qui ont fortement régressé (et presque disparu) en raison de la pollution de l'air dans cette zone (agriculture intensive et 4 papeteries et une grande verrerie cristallerie à proximité).English: pioneer species (bacteria + algae) on sand, and Erica cinerea (Helfaut, Pas de Calais, north of france) |
