Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Caedmon’s Trod, Church Street ‘Caedmon’s Trod’ is the name given to the set of steps leading up to the Abbey from Church Street. Curiously, though, the commemorative Cross of Caedmon stands at the top of the other steps, called the Abbey Steps, or, more usually, simply the 199 steps. These steps are also, correctly or incorrectly, referred to as Caedmon’s Trod.
