Description Les tramways à traction par câble de San Francisco sont les derniers du monde à être opérationnels en permanence. Ils sont devenus l'une des icônes de la ville. Le tout premier tronçon de cable car a été exploité le 2 août 1873. Le service commercial de la ligne démarra le 1er septembre et le succès fut tel que la ligne est devenue le modèle pour les autres systèmes de transport, à San Francisco et ailleurs.
