  • Dansk: Bestilt af M. L. Nathanson i oktober 1812 (jf. brev fra Clemens til Eckersberg 12. oktober 1812, citeret Eckersberg 1894) og udført i Rom i 1815. Den 23. april 1816 gjorde Eckersberg klar til hjemtransporten af maleriet (jf. Eckersbergs dagbøger, 2009, bd. 1, p. 122), og Nathanson modtog maleriet senere samme år. Solgt af Nathanson til kongen den 21. marts 1826.
  • 31 December 1826: acquired by Statens Museum for Kunst
