A qualitative test simply provides a "positive" or "negative" result based on a predefined threshold for elevated CRP levels.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: A C-reactive protein (CRP) test, when reported as "positive" using a qualitative method, typically means that elevated levels of CRP have been detected in the blood. CRP is a protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation or infection in the body. It is a nonspecific marker of inflammation, meaning that its levels can rise in response to various inflammatory conditions, but it doesn't provide specific information about the underlying cause.
