English: Temples Dieng-Plateau, Jawa
Nederlands: Negatief. Het oudste tempelcomplex op Java is dat van het Diëng Plateau. De tempels dateren vermoedelijk uit het midden van de 8e eeuw (A.D.) en zijn dus ouder dan de Boroboedoer. Het plateau ligt op 2000 meter hoogte en de tempels zijn Hindoetempels. Het hier gevestigde vorstendom is vermoedelijk vrij snel na de 8e eeuw verdwenen. In de vroege 19e eeuw was het hele plateau weer met hoogstammig bos overwoekerd. Pas toen men het gebied voor de tabaksteelt ging ontginnen kwamen de tempels te voorschijn. (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
