Nederlands: Foto. Op het schild staat vermeld: " obiit Den 29 X ber Anno 1711 Domingos Quiljo Radja van Kilan.
Voor Nederlanders zijn de termen 'Molukkers' en 'Ambonezen' zo goed als identiek. Vanaf de vroege 17e eeuw was de inheemse bevolking van Ambon geassocieerd met het centrum van de VOC macht in de Molukken. Veel van hen waren gekerstend en een deel werd Islamiet. In verschillende oorlogen vochten de Ambonezen als hulptroepen met de Nederlanders mee tegen andere volken in de Archipel. Banda, veel kleiner dan Ambon, heeft deze rol nooit kunnen spelen, omdat de VOC een groot deel van de Bandanezen uitroeide toen er aan het begin van de 17e eeuw een gewapend conflict ontstond. (P.
