Description
Nederlands: Negatief. De meisjes staan op de grond en op de vóórgalerij van een huis.

Zij dragen allemaal een "sambat" doek om het lijf gewikkeld. De "sambat" bestaat uit twee aan elkaar genaaide "kelamkelam" doeken. Enkelen dragen óf een "baju" oftewel jak op het bovenlijf, óf een doek. De omslagdoek heet "batu jala" als hij met plangi techniek is versierd, óf een "kelamkelam" als hij effen indigoblauw gekleurd is. In de tijd waarin deze foto werd gemaakt, bestond vrouwenkleding voor een heel groot deel uit ingevoerde machinaal gemaakt katoen die de Karo zelf met indigo hebben geverfd.
