Nederlands: foto. Het geven van feesten was een manier om te laten zien dat men rijk was. Rijkdom moest getoond kunnen worden anders had het geen zin. Wie niet liet dat hij rijk was door het geven van feesten werd ook niet als zodanig erkend. Rijkdom bewees dat men succes had en dus 'kracht' bezat. Wie rijk was, kon prestige en status verwerven door de aanschaf van status-goederen en door het geven van grote feesten. Had een familie eenmaal een hoge status bereikt, dan kon deze voor een dochter een flinke bruidsprijs bedingen.
