A crowd stands gathered around the train tracks, where William Crocker re-enacts the driving of the final spike on the Los Angeles-San Francisco link of the Southern Pacific railroad. George Cryer is at the upper left of the image, while"Sunny Jim"Rolph is at the right centerground.
