Summary[edit]
DescriptionC2012 S1 (ISON) evening sky northern hemisphere.png |
English: The comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) in the (roughly northwestern) evening sky for an observer on 52° N latitude, in December 2013 and January 2014. The position of the comet with respect to the background stars is correct at all times. The horizon and twilight are (roughly) valid for 19 Dec 2013, 17:00 local time and the positions of the planets are correct for 19 Dec 2013, 17:00 CET (16:00 UT). The comet tails are schematic and give a rough indication of the orientation of the actual tail, but not of its true length or appearance. The yellow labels show the day of month for which a comet is drawn, red ones the first day of a month. Source: http://hemel.waarnemen.com/kometen/2013-11__C-2012_S1_ISON.html |
