Description
English: Bust of Flight Lieutenant Allan Triggs at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne.

The sign says: Flight Lieutenant Allan Triggs of No. 172 Squadron, RAF Coastal Command, was made a Member of the British Empire on 15 December 1942 for the sterling leadership which saved his crew after a crash-landing at sea and six days adrift.

A month later Triggs was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for attacks on enemy submarines. One raid cost his aircraft an engine, although the crew survived.
