Summary[edit]

Description

Overloading a polyzen (ZEN164V130A24LS) device. www.circuitprotection.com/PolyZen/

Device loaded with 47 ohms (yes, a 5 W 47 ohmresistor gets hot @24Vand 24 VDC applied to it - 12 W is possible with a heatsink...). The tests with normal current limit (up to 3 ADC) worked fine and the device stopped nicely, @5ADC it managed just to trip with a little smoke but with current limit set to 7 ADC@24VDC it is a different story...

PolyZen are good devices, but if you overload them - they WILL burn...

Ever though about why you use FR4 UL94-V0 PCB? Flame resistant is not a bad idea...
