For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. ADN-ZB-12.8.81 Ein Beusch im Park von Sanssouci (Serie-4 Motive) Das Chinesische Teehaus - Es liegt inmitten des 290,3 Hektar großen Potsdamer Parkes von Sanssouci, wo es mit seinen vergoldeten Ornamenten zweichen dem Grün der Bäume und Sträucher herausleuchtet. Es wurde von dem Erbauer der Bildergalerie (siehe Motiv Z0718-5N), dem Baumeister Büring von 1754 bis 1757 errichtet und ist ein ausgeprägtes Beispiel für die Chinamode (Chinoiserie), die sich in ganz Europa aubreitete und im 18. Jahrjundert ihren Höhepunkt erreichte. An den kreisrunden Saal als Herz des Gebäudes schließen sich kleeblattartig angeordnet drei Kabinette mit dazwischenliegenden offenen Vorhallen an. Das Dach ist weitartig gestaltet. Auf der Kuppel sitzt unter einem Schirm ein Mandarin. Die vergoldeten Plastikgruppen und Einzelplastiken stammen von den Bildhauern Banckert und Haymüller.
