ADN-ZB Link 15.10.79-hsch Bez. Neubrandenburg: Das Landambulatorium in Burow betreut etwa 6000 Einwohner aus sechs Gemeinden und 21 Ortsteilen. 28354 Konsultationen wurden 1978 von vier Fachärzten durchgeführt. Das Landambulatorium in Burow sichert seit 1956 die medizinische Grundbetreuung eines Teiles der Landbevölkerung des Kreises Altentreptow. Der Bau ist mit einem Kostenaufwand von 437000 Mark errichtet worden und zählt zu den 389 Landambulatorien, die es gegenwärtig in der DDR gibt. 1945 kam in den Nordbezirken der heutigen DDR ein Arzt auf 20000 bis 30000 Landbewohner. Gegenwärtig betreut im DDR-Durchschnitt ein Arzt für Allgemeinmedizin mit zwei bis drei Gemeindeschwestern 2322 Einwohner. Mehr als ein Drittel aller Ärzte der Republik wirken in Gemeinden.
