For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Infografik, Deutsche Reichsbahn, Anteil der Traktionsarten
ADN-ZB Grafik 18.9.74 Deutsche Reichsbahn-1973 wurden über 280 Mill. Tonnen Güter von der Eisenbahn der DDR transportiert, das sind 6 Mill. Tonnen mehr als 1972. Die steigenden Transportanforderungen der Wirtschaft sowie des Import- und Transitverkehrs bedingen eine ständige Verbesserung der Verkehrsverhältnisse. Im 1. Halbjahr 1974 wurden weitere neue Fahrzeuge in den Dienst gestellt, u.a. moderne leistungsfähige Diesel- und Elektrolokomotiven. Der Anteil der mit diesen Triebfahrzeugen durchgeführten Transporte belief sich 1973 auf mehr als 67 % und stieg im 1. Halbjahr 1974 auf 71 %.
