For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.

Beutesammlung in der Festung Warschau Entsprechend den Uebergabevereinbarungen führte die weit über 100.000 Mann starke Besatzung der Festung Warschau nach der Kapitulation ihre Entwaffnung selbst durch, wobei die Waffen und anderen Ausrüstungsgegenstände an bestimmten Plätzen niedergelegt wurden. Auch der Hof des bekannten Brühlschen Palais wurde, wie unser Bild zeigt, so zur Beutesammelstelle. PK- Sommerschuh (Scherl) Okt. 1939 "Fr." OKW
