For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Stöhr bb-Gre. 16.12.1963 Noch in diesem Jahr fließt sowjetisches Erdöl nach Schwedt Noch in diesem Jahr wird in Schwedt an der Oder das erste sowjetische Erdöl durch die internationale Pipeline "Freundschaft" ankommen. Der 27 Kilometer lange Teil der Leitung auf dem Boden der DDR bestand bereits die Druckprobe. Schwedt ist der Endpunkt der Nordstrasse des insgesamt 4 000 Kilometer langen Leitungssystems, das außerdem Polen, Ungarn und die CSSR von den Erdölfeldern bei Kuibyschwe aus mit dem wertvollen Rohstoff versorgt. (Näheres siehe ADN-Meldung 512-513 v. 14.12.1963). UBz. Blick auf die Verladung Nord. Vorerst wird das Rohöl von hier in die Chemiebetriebe der DDR verladen. Für später ist hier die Verladung von leichten Produkten wie Benzine und Benzole vorgesehen."
