For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Schulz Sto-Pr 1.10.1963 Der Erdöl-Import der DDR ist etwa auf das Dreifache von 1957 gestiegen. In nächster Zeit erhalten wir das "Schwarze Gold" von der Sowjetunion durch die Erdölleitung "Freundschaft" geliefert. Innerhalb von 5 Minuten werden dann 40 t Erdöl, das entspricht dem Fassungsvermögen von 2 Eisenbahn -Tankwagen, durch diese Leitung fließen. Ein Teil der durch Raffinierung gewonnen Erdöl-Rohprodukte wird in Leuna II weiterverarbeitet, um schließlich in Form von Plasten und synthetischen Fasern von anderen Betrieben zu den verschiedensten Gebrauchsgütern verarbeitet zu werden."
