For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Kaschwitz, Einzelbauer im Maisfeld Zentralbilt-Braun 23.9.1955 Mais - vielseitigste, wertvollste Futterpflanzen-"Die Futterbasis ist durch den Anbau besonders ertragreicher Futterpflanzen, insbesondere Mais und Sonnenblumen, zu verbessern. Das Ministerium für Land- und Fortwirtschaft wird beauftragt, auch im Jahre 1955 zu sichern, dass 120000 ha Mais als Stoppelfrucht angebaut werden, gleichfalls sind alle Voraussetzungen dafür zu schaffen, dass die Anbaufläche in Mais ab 1956 auf mindestens 200.000 ha erweitert werden kann." So heißt es im Ministerratsbeschluß vom 10.3.1955. UBz: Einzelbauer Grohmann aus Kaschwitz, Kr. Kamenz, hat zur Verbesserung seiner Futtergrundlage ein Versuchsfeld mit Mais angebaut und damit einen großen Erfolg erzielt. Die kräftigen Stämme sind bis zu 3, 50 m hoch.
