For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Wismar, Mathias-Thesen-Werft, Ausrüstungskai Zentralbild Weiß 16.4.1955 Die "Mathias-Thesen-Werft", ein Spiegelbild unseres friedlichen Aufbaus Wo 1945 noch Wiesen bis zum Wasser reichten, liegt heute die volkseigene "Mathias-Thesen-Werft" in Wismar mit ihrer weithin sichtbaren Kabelkrananlage. Aus eigener Kraft geschaffen ist sie ein Ausdruck unseres unermüdlichen Aufbauwillens. Hilfreich unterstütze uns die Sowjetunion und gab und Rohstoffe, Material und Aufträge, Flußfahrgastschiffe, Schwimmdecke und kleine Küstentanker gehören zur Produktion der "Mathias-Thesen-Werft", deren Aufbau noch nicht abgeschlossen ist. UBz: Blick auf den Ausrüstungskai, wo drei Flußfahrgastschiffe ausgestattet werden. (aufgenommen im April 1955)
