For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Eichow, Einzelbauer vor einem Scheunenrohbau ZB-Schutt-18.10.1954 Volkswahlen am 17. Oktober 1954. Der werktätige Bauer Otto Kinzer aus Eichow Kreis Cottbus weist stolz auf seine neuerbaute Scheune. Die alte Scheune fiel am 5. September 1954 einem Blitzeinschlag zum Opfer und brannte vollständig nieder. Mit Hilfe und Unterstützung der Regierung war es möglich, dass bereits am 16. Oktober das Richtfest der neuerbauten Scheune gefeiert werden konnte. Als Dank an die Regierung war der Bauer Otto Kinzer am 17. Oktober mit einer der ersten im Wahllokal und gab offen seine Stimme für die Kandidaten der Nationalen Front. "Eine Regierung, die uns Bauern so gut unterstützt, geniesst unser vollstes Vertrauen, deshalb habe ich auch offen meine Meinung kundgetan und die Kandidaten der Nationalen Front gewählt"", erklärte er.
