For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Agrarflieger, Düngen, Forstwirtschaft ADN-ZB Schaar 12.5.89 Bez. Suhl: Dünger für den Wald - In den Forstrevieren zwischen Oberhof und Sonneberg begannen jetzt die diesjährigen Düngungsarbeiten. Etwa 17.000 Hektar Waldfläche sind mit Kalk und flüssigem Magnesium zu behandeln. Damit hat sich gegenüber dem vor drei Jahren begonnenen Großexperiment die zu versorgende Fläche vor allem in Hoch- und Kammlagen 1989 um das Achtfache erweitert. Vom 835 Meter hoch gelegenen Arbeitsflugplatz bei Masserberg startet ein mit Düngerkalk beladener Mi-a. - Siehe auch 1989-0512-7N. Die Behandlung der Forstreviere mit Kalk und Magnesium diet einer verbesserten Assimilationsfähigkeit des Blattgrüns. Außerdem sollen über eine Langzeiteinwirkung des Kalks die vom Grundgestein her sauren Verwitterungsböden in einen besseren Ernährungszustand gebracht werden.
