For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Masserberg, Einweisung eines Agrarfliegers, Forstwirtschaft ADN-ZB Schaar 12.5.89 Bez. Suhl: Dünger für den Wald. In den Forstrevieren zwischen Oberhof und Sonneberg begannen jetzt die diesjährigen Düngearbeiten. Etwa 17.000 Hektar Waldfläche sind mit Kalk und flüssigem Magnesium zu behandeln. Auf dem 835 Meter hoch gelegenen Arbeitslugplatz bei Masserberg wiesen Oberförster Udo Seifferth (l.) und Revierförster Thomas Wächter (3.v.l.) anhand von Luftbildaufnahmen das "fliegende Personal" - Hubschrauberführer Ralph Meister (2.v.l.) und Flugkapitän Roland Priebus (r.) ein. -siehe auch 1989/0512/8 N. Für die Walddüngung aus der Luft wurden insgesamt 15 spezielle Flugplätze in Forstrevieren eingerichtet. Von hier aus starten täglich bis in den Herbst hinein im Zweischicht-Rhythmus sieben Hubschrauber und Starflügler, geflogen von Experten aus Bulgarien, der Sowjetunion und der DDR.
