Biosphärenreservat Vessertal ADN-ZB Schaar 7.9.1988 Bez. Suhl: Biosphärenreservat Vessertal-Mit 1.000 Hektar ist das Vessertal vor den Toren der Bezirksstadt das größte Naturschutzgebiet zwischen Rennstieg und Röhn. Der hier für einige europäische Mittelgebirge vorhandene einst typische Baumbestand von Fichte, Tanne und Buche sowie die besondere Landschaftsstruktur mit Wald, Wiese, Wasser, Tal und Hang haben Seltenheitswert. siehe auch 1988-0907-20 u. 21N sowie die ADN-Meldung vom 7.9.
