For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. ADN-ZB Deutsche Demokratische Republik Januar 1987 4-87 750 Jahre Berlin Der historische Stadtkern Blickt man über die Dächer Berlins, bietet sich dem Betrachter ein eindrucksvolles Panorama. An der historischen Gründungsstätte Berlins geht bis zur 750-Jahr-Feier 1987 am Ufer der Spree ein architektonisch-städtebauliches Kleinod seiner Vollendung entgegen: das Nikolaiviertel. Etwa 1.500 Bürger fanden hier eine komfortable Heimstatt. Traditionelle Bauelementr der mittelalterlichen Stadtstruktur vereinen sich in diesem neuen Wohn- und Geschäftsensemble harmonisch mit der Baukunst der Gegenwart.
