For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Industriearbeiter Maschine bedienend Zentralbild Paalzow 18.3.52. Begeisterte Zustimmung zum sowjetischen Entwurf eines Friedensvertrages mit Deutschland. Der Aktivist Otto Bege von der Brigade der besten Qualität in den Hallischen Kompressoren- und Pumpenwerken sagt: "Es sind bereits sieben Jahre her seit Beendigung der Kampfghandlungen, und noch immer warten wir auf den uns zustehenden Friedensvertrag. Unsere Regierung hat mir aus dem Herzen gesprochen, wenn sie diesen von den vier Grossmächten fordert. Allein die Sowjetunion unterstützt die gerechte Forderung aller Deutschen, was für mich die Verpflichtung bedeutet, auch meinerseits alles zu tun, was unsere Einheit fördert. So bin ich als Dreher bestrebt, durch die Anwendung der Neuerermethoden meine Leistung zu erhöhen und somit einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Erfüllung des Friedensplanes zu leisten."
