For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Generalfeldmarschall von Kluge, der neu ernannte Oberbefehlshaber West, befand sich in den letzten Tagen auf einer Besichtigungsfahrt an der Kanalküste. Er besuchte die dort eingesetzten Divisionen und informiert sich über den Stand der Verteidigungs- und Abwehrmaßnahmen im Falle einer erneuten Landung des Feindes.

Am Kartentisch unterrichtet der Generalfeldmarschall den Kommandierenden General eines Armee-Korps, General der Panzertruppen Kuntzen.

If the file is a photo of an artwork in perspective and with context (a physical frame, a place where the work is located etc.), use {{Extract image}} for request for a detailed image or a flat copy.

Any text from the border should be included in the image description. If the border contains author and license information, this may also be embedded in the file itself and the tag, {{Metadata from image}}, should be added.
