She was designed for the general deep-sea fisheries but particularly for the Grand Banks cod- fishery. The model shows a clipper fishing schooner in general hull design, but of somewhat greater capacity than the extreme clipper design of her time, having a straight keel with drag, raking stem rabbet, a long- head, nearly upright post, and a short and rather heavy counter with a wide, raking, and curved ellip- Gloucester Harbor in the i88o's, showing typical fishing schooners and a salt-carrying bark.
