TEACHERS TRAINING COURSE. The Normal and Teachers Training Course teaches the subjectsof a thoroughly organized secondary school and gives instruction bycritic teachers in the principles and theory of the educative processin general and thirty periods of instruction in each of the grammarschool branches in particular, with instruction in class and schoolmanagement. Students are required to give one period a day inpractice teaching, under the supervision of the Superintendent of thedepartment, for one year. The course takes five years, the last yearranking as the Freshman year in College. The completion of thiscourse with satisfactory evidence of aptness to teach, and ability todiscipline, will be necessary to receive a Normal diploma.
