52 BULETINUL SOCIETĂŢII DE SCIINŢE are o mulţime de inconveniente. Metodele grafice daţi tot-d'a-una erort maî marî sau maî micî dupe cum scara desemnuluî este maî mică sau maî mare, şi cart erori inerente metodelor grafice devin câte o-dată forte marî când întinderea figureî ar fi ceva mal! mare; afară de acesta metodele grafice presupun şi un desinator îndemânatec ca erorile să fie reduse la limita lor inferioră. De a se încerca să se facă pe teren construcţia grafică, nicî că este de vorbit că ar fi imposibilă. Dacă vom întrebuinţa calculul la resolvarea cestiuneî, metodele algebrice rie vor conduce la soluţia următore: Fie triunghiul ABC de îm- părţit într'un numSr de părţî egale (4 de exemplu) prin liniî paralele la una din laturî (la AB de exemplu). Fie D, E şi F punctele prin carî ducend paralele la AB; ces- tiunea ar fi resolvată când am cunosce depărtările acestor pa- ralele. Dacă însemnăm prin B (baza), şi înălţimea corespunţlg- tore prin H; ca cestiunea să fie resolvată trebue să calculăm înălţi- mile x, y, z, corespunc^tore la cele treî paralele la AB duse prin punctele D, E, F; pentru acesta, tot pentru prescurtare vom însemna prin a, (3, y, lungimile paralelelor corespunolgtore la înălţimile x, y. z: dacă acum exprimăm condiţiile probleme! aşa în cât să avem ecua- ţiile cele maî simple de resolvat vom avea: B.H. Yz =
