Un punct M de pe suprafaţa sa este determinat de unghiul 0, pe care raza OM îl face cu axa Oz şi prin unghiul o, pe care planul Mo; îl face cu planul fix xoz. Când sfera cade după direcţia Oz vedem că rezistenţa aerului se exercită numai pe hemisfera sa. in- ferioară. Un element de suprafaţă da de pe ea are, cum ss ştie, ca. expresiune : (20) da = r2sin0d0do Fie i unghiul pe care planul acestui element îl face cu direcţiunea" căderii Oz. Acest unghiu este I complimentar cu unghiul 0 al normalei acestui plan, adică al razei OM cu aceeaşi direcţie.
