684 BULETINUL SOCIETĂŢII UE ŞTIINŢE No. 29. Junges Miinnchen, erlegt am 17. September 1900 bei Elena, Jud. Ialomiţa, zeigt unter den normalen Federn viele von caffeebrauner Farbe. No. 38. Altes Weibcben, erlegt im December 1902 bei Cerna- voda. Kreuzschnabel nacli links, Ober- und Unterschnabel 0.9, respective 1.2cm verlangert.

Vorkommen und Lebensweise.—Auch die Dohle gehort zu dea hăuflgsten Standvogeln des Landes und erreicht beinahe die In- dividuenzahl der Saatkrăhe. Im Winter ist ihre Zahl noch bedeu- tender, da die heimischen Schwărme noch durch nordische, we- sentlich vermehrt werden. Im Sommer und Herbst halten sie sich mit Saatkrăhen zu grossen Schwărmen vereint auf den Feldern auf; zur Mittagszeit Pindet man sie dann an dem Ufer der Fliisse, um dort zu trinken und zu baden. Am Abend bevor sie schlafen gehen, aber auch des morgens fiihren die Schwărme unter gros- sem Lărm ihre Flugspiele aus und entwickeln sie dabei eine Schnelligkeit, welche alle ihre Gattnngsverwandten bei weiten iiber trifft. Fortpflanzungsgeschăft.—Ihre Nester fîndet man an sehr ver- schiedenen Orten, in alten Rninen, Hausboden. Rauchfangen, hohlen Baumen, Lehm- und Felswanden, verlassenen Brunnen. Wo es angeht briiten sie colonienweise. Einige von mir unter- suchte Nester will ich năher beschreiben. 1) Das Nest befand sich in einem alten verlassenen Brunnen, etwa 21" tief, gerade dort wo ein grusserer Stein heraus gefal- len war. 2) Dieses Nest war in ein, im selben Jahr bewohntes, enorm grosses Storchnest eingebaut und sind die Jungeh ausgellogen.
