Wappenbuch des Westfälische Adels, S. 24 [1]:

Bulemast auch Bolemast, Bulemast gen. Spiering. – Im Bistuhm Paderborn und im Waldeckschen angesessen. – W.: Mast mit Segel nach links auch nach rechts wehend; richtiger ist es wohl eine Fahne in G. Die Fahne ist quer getheilt, hat oben in W. ein r. Kreuz, unten ist sie sieben mal, auch öfter, von r. g. pfahlweise gespalten. Auf dem gekrönten Helm wiederholt sich die Fahne. D.: w. r. – Die Familie v. Stapel nahm später das Wappen zu dem ihrigen an, vergl. ds. – 1328 noch blühend. – Q.: Staatsarchiv Münster.
