English: 'Bruynzeelwoning' is the collective name given in Suriname to various models of prefabricated single-storey wooden houses, usually built on storey-high concrete piles for protection against pests and to enable passive cooling. They were produced from 1950 to 1990 by the Surinamese timber company Bruynzeel . They enjoyed great popularity during this period.
Nederlands: 'Bruynzeelwoning' is in Suriname de verzamelnaam voor verschillende modellen van geprefabriceerde houten huizen van één verdieping, die meestal zijn gebouwd op verdiepingshoge betonnen palen ter bescherming tegen ongedierte en om passieve koeling mogelijk te maken. Ze werden van 1950 tot 1990 geproduceerd door de Bruynzeel Suriname Houtmaatschappij. Ze genoten in deze periode een grote populariteit.
Español: 'Bruynzeelwoning' es el nombre colectivo que se da en Surinam a varios modelos de casas prefabricadas de madera de una sola planta, generalmente construidas sobre pilotes de hormigón de un piso de altura para protegerlas de las alimañas y permitir una climatización pasiva. La empresa maderera surinamesa Bruynzeel las fabricó entre 1950 y 1990. Gozaron de gran popularidad durante este periodo.
