Description
Français : Photo ancienne (fin des années 1980) d’une vaste étendue de landes à bruyère (Bruyère centrées = Erica cinerea principalement sur cette partie relativement sèche). On distingue au loin les boisements spontanés de bouleaux et chênes ou plantations de résineux qui commencent à envahir l'ancienne lande et les anciennes «garennes» sableuses. Lieu : Partie Ouest du Plateau d’Helfaut, en limite de l’actuelle Réserve naturelle des Landes d'Helfaut (l'une des anciennes « réserves naturelles volontaires » , devenues depuis « réserves naturelles régionales ») de la Région Nord/Pas-de-Calais et l'une des quatre de ces réserves mises en place en guide de mesure compensatoires à la fragmentation supplémentaire du plateau d'Helfaut pas la VNVA (Voie nouvelle de la vallée de l'Aa) plus souvent nommée « Contournement d'Heuringhem ». C'est le début de la succession écologique vers la forêt.
