Description
Deutsch: Zwei Briefwaagen modellieren die Pfeiler einer Eisenbahnbrücke. Ein 200-Gramm Messinggewichts simuliert eine Lok auf der Brücke.

Die Auflast als Masse von 200 Gramm verteilt sich immer so auf die zwei Pfeiler, dass die Summe vom Zahlenwert her 200 ergibt.

Das Modell wird verwendet in der Mathe-AC Lernwerkstatt in Aachen. Es dient der Arbeit mit Schülern (Summenbegriff, Skalen ablesen, Plusrechnen), aber auch Studenten (Drehomentengleichgewicht, Kräfte, Statik).

Die zwei mechanischen Briefwaagen stammen von der Firma Maul. Sie waren im Jahr 2022 nicht mehr im Angebot der Firma. Sie konnten nur noch antiquarisch erworben werden.

Kräfte, Drehmomente und Hebel bilden Grundbausteine eines mechanistischen Weltbildes. Die entsprechenden Prinzipien wurden auch auf Menschen und Tiere bis hin zu deren psychischen Prozesse übertragen.
