Description |
English: A fragment from near the tip of a polished bone dagger similar to other Suffolk examples, see Beck Row, SMR reference number MNL 145, Worlington, reference number WGN 008. This and previous examples are most likely to be Bronze Age in date. This fragment consits of a split and sharpened bone with part of the circular marrow core surviving. It is plano-convex in cross-section and there are old breaks near th tip and roughly mid-blade. The surviving fragment shows numerous sharpening and abrasive linear marks and facets. There is also a slight split visible along the length of the convex face. The bone is medium brown. It measures 76mm in surviving length, 21mm in width, 8mm in thickness and 11g in weight. |
