English: Drawing of a Roman statue called Nero Citharoedus which has a cithara embedded in its composition.
Italiano: statua sedente assai minor del vero. Eccetto la statuetta di bronzo publicata nel Museo Romano non si conosceva alcun simulacro di questo principe sotto le sembianze di tal Nume. Questa piccola figura sedente e laureata che appoggia il sinistro braccio sulla lira si rinvenne come la precedente [il c.d. Menandro] nella Villa Montalto poi Negroni.
- La statua riprodotta, Apollo Citaredo seduto, cosiddetto Nerone, della prima metà del II sec., è nella Galleria delle Statue del Museo Pio Clementino. Inv. 856. - Vedi in Museo Pio-Clementino al Vaticano, Roma 1846, pag. 101.
