Summary[edit]

Description The gate to the Britannia Iron Works which used to stand on the site behind it, which is now a housing estate. The gate is listed, so now stands as an architectural feature and a monument to Bedford's industrial Past (the town was an engineering center until the late 20th century and now has almost no industry of any kind). The photo was taken from Kempston Road outside Bedford Hospital South Wing.
