Summary[edit]

Description

New with El Al in 1959 as 4X-AGD, this Britannia was briefly leased to BUA as G-ASFU in Mar 1963 and eventually sold to Globe Air in 1965 as HB-ITC. It is seen here outside the Aviation Traders hangar at Southend in Oct 1966 in the original colour scheme with Globe Air rendered as two words on the cabin roof. Soon after this it was repainted with Globeair as a single word. It went to African Safari Airways at the end of 1967 as 5X-UVH, was re-registered 5Y-ALT in 1970 and was withdrawn at Stansted in May 1975. After being stripped for spares, the remains were passed to the Stansted Fire Training School.
