Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Bridgnorth shed Bridgnorth engine shed on the Severn Valley Railway adjacent to Bridgnorth station. The Great Western tank 5784 could be expected to be here. But the Great Northern Railway N2 0-6-2 tank 1744 is an interloper. It normally lives on the Great Central Railway but sometimes visits other preserved railways. It was built in 1921 and worked on London suburban services out of King's Cross and Moorgate before being withdrawn in 1962 and purchased for preservation a year later. Beyond the signal box, on the high ground overlooking the River Severn, are the remains of Bridgnorth Castle, destroyed during the Civil War.
