Description
English: Description: Bremen; Site of the destroyed (burned) synagogue in the 1820-built house on Gartenstraße 6 (renamed Kolpingstraße 6 in 1950), rebuilt to serve as a synagogue in 1876, on the left hand, house no. 7, acquired in 1927 to serve as Jewish community building, forcibly sold in 1939 and after 1945 restituted to the community, which sold it by the mid-1950s, since 2011 called Rosenak-Haus after Bremen's first Rabbi Leopold Rosenak, Rosenak-Haus (no. 7) offers access to showrooms and an exhibition on Jewish Bremen in the preserved basement of the former synagogue under no. 6, discovered and listed as a monument in 1959.
