Boys agricultural club work is one of the main features of theagricultural extension work conducted by the Office of ExtensionWork South of the States Relations Service, United States Depart-ment of Agriculture, in cooperation with the State agriculturalcolleges and other local agencies for the purpose of improving agri-cultural conditions and practices in the South.

Scholarships in the short courses at the colleges are among theprizes given for excellence in club work. To improve farm practices by instructing boys in correct agri-cultural methods. 2. To furnish an extensively organized means of effecting perma-nent improvement in agriculture and rural life. 3. To put into practice the facts of scientific agriculture obtainedfrom books, bulletins, etc. 4. To assist in the development of the spirit of cooperation in thefamily and in the community. 5.
