ARABIAN GULF (July 1, 2016) Capt. Glenn Jamison, the commanding officer of the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18), grills ribs on the flight deck during a steel beach picnic. New Orleans is part of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
