An oil spill removal organization deploys containment boom to simulate protecting a local marsh during a BSEE Government Initiated Unannounced Exercise (GIUE). BSEE Oil Spill Preparedness Division personnel plan and execute a GIUE to witness and evaluate, on a no-notice basis, an oil spill response plan holder’s abilities to employ public and private equipment, resources, and staff to respond to a hypothetical oil spill.
